Physical Activity and its effect on Mental Health

Updated: Dec 14, 2018

By Lesli Robles

We think of vacation in Las Vegas & I think we all immediately think of down time & lengthy times of sedentary activities, such as laying on the pool side, laying down in the hotel room, sitting at some club table/bar, etc. Apart from this, we also see vacation as time to mentally recover from the stresses of life. Physical activity can truly have a positive effect on mental health.

Overall, we gain nothing from being sedentary, vacation or not. Las Vegas has more to offer than days of being sedentary & nights of drinking. For example, Hard Rock Casino offers poolside yoga classes regularly that is free of charge & open to children. Studies have shown that yoga can improve one’s mental state & an event such as that would be a good alternative to some sedentary activity, especially considering it’s free & kid friendly for those who are traveling as a family.
